Located at the intersection of a narrow lane near Nanjing East Road, the site is defined by an unusually sharp triangular geometry. Rather than viewing the challenging site condition as a limitation, the design team saw it as an opportunity to explore spatial possibilities that would be difficult to achieve on a conventional plot.

The initial program envisioned a restaurant occupying the ground and basement levels, with offices and a bar above, while the top floor was designed as a duplex residence connected to an outdoor terrace. Given the limited site area, maximizing interior flexibility became the primary design challenge. The team sought to eliminate bulky interior columns by shifting the structural system toward the perimeter, allowing the interior spaces to remain open, continuous, and adaptable.
