Nestled in Yangmingshan, this private residence is built on a site originally occupied by a two-story house surrounded by mature trees. The design explores a closer relationship between architecture and nature, transforming the existing landscape into an integral part of daily living.

The house is composed of three interlocking rectangular volumes. Two horizontal boxes extend and overlap with subtle shifts, while a vertical volume rises through them, creating a precise yet dynamic composition of horizontal and vertical elements. This simple geometric language generates a strong dialogue between structure, space, and the surrounding landscape.
